First Meeting Update

Already, there is an eager excitement, craving curiosity, and palpable presence of the Lord felt by everyone involved.

Our team is made up of the Young Adults Ministry at NLC, GLR - each of us with something unique and impactful to contribute. We are a group comprised of different ages, backgrounds, and experience. For some, this will be their first time out of the country - for others, this will be their returning trip to Cuba. As for the rest of us, we fall in that space in between. The thing that unites us all though is a love for God's people, a heart for service, and a readiness to do what is asked of us.

The majority of our first meeting was spent with the basics of what our next six months of preparation will look like and an introduction into the cultural differences from America to Cuba. We had the opportunity to ask both great and fun questions. We were able to hear first hand about Cuba from members of our team that have been before and testimony on the life changing experiences they had.

To prepare for our next meeting in mid February we have been reminded to stay prayed up, get our passport glamour shots taken, and continue to invite our friends and family members to come along side us in support of and for what is to come.

Our responsibilities at this time are to have 50% of our funding raised by February 21 and to have a testimony prepared to share.

For those joining alongside us in prayer over this journey my ask is this:

1. Pray for our faithfulness. We believe God is faithful. We believe He is the provider of all things. We know that it is us that needs to be strengthened in our faith - our boldness - our obedience.

2. Pray for divine appointments. We are already praying for those that we will encounter there and along the way. We ask that you begin praying for those encounters as well.

3. Pray for provision. Jehovah Jireh - Provider. We believe that God is the provider of all things and that where there is calling there are needs met. We also know that trips like this cost money and that money has to come from somewhere.

4. Pray for our health. We know that missions take toll on the physical, mental, and spiritual health. We seek wellness in all areas.

What I have learned through my experience with international missions is there is an unabashed boldness about believers outside of the United States. I am so looking forward to witnessing and worshiping with fellow believers sharing in the unified language that is praise.

Thank you for going on this journey with me, with us. Reminder, if you would like to stay updated on this trip drop your name in the comments below, send me a message - anything to let me know you want in on this experience personally.
